Richard Clayton Hardman, Sr. passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at his residence with his beloved family at the age of 76. Richard was born on January 1, 1947, in Atlanta, GA to the late Wilda Faye Westbrook and Royal Clayton Hardman. He grew up in and received his primary education in Lawrenceville, GA at Central Gwinnett until his 10th year and graduated from O’Keefe High School in Atlanta, GA. On October 15, 1966, he married the former Gail Hutchins of Lawrenceville, GA. Richard worked in construction all his life. He was the owner of two successful businesses, Hardman Grading and Hauling in Loganville, GA and Tripple Creek Tree Farm in Greensboro, GA. He was a Mason and a member of Loganville Lodge #135. After moving to Greensboro he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church which he loved along with his church family. He was very active in the church and was always willing to do whatever needed to be done.
Over his lifetime he had a big influence over many people with his laughter, joking ways, his ethics for hard work and his dependability. Over the course of his life he had many friends and developed many good business associations. He enjoyed the outside life, and you would find him most days, especially after retirement, outside on his tractor. He dearly loved his family and his wonderful grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his sons, Richard Clayton Hardman, Jr. (Chanda) and Randall Scott Hardman (Heather) both of Greensboro, GA; sister, Rebecca Joanne Bradberry and brother, Thomas David Hardman both of Lawrenceville, GA; sister, Nancy Hart of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Royal Clayton Hardman (Michaela) of Gray, GA; Emily Kate Goss (Ethan) of Greensboro, GA, and Emma Marie Hoy of Peachtree City, GA; great grandchild, Olivia S.
