Randy Lynn Free

Randy Lynn Free of Union Point, GA passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Watkinsville, GA at the age of 66.  He was born in Canton, GA on January 31, 1956 to the late Neil Blanton Free and Annie Belle Neighbors Free.  He attended Cherokee High School.  In 1989 he moved from Canton, GA to Greene County and on October 28, 1989 he married the former Patsy Jean McCannon of Greensboro.  He was an excellent painter and was the owner and operator of Randy Free Painting.  At one time he ran six paint crews in Atlanta.  He also worked for the Penfield Christian Home as a Servant Leader and grounds keeper. He enjoyed fishing and was one of the best around, rabbit hunting and raising beagles.  Randy was a member of Penfield Baptist Church.  

Randy is survived by his wife Patsy Free of Union Point, GA; children, James Free (Tricia) of Kennesaw, GA, Eric Free (Maricel) of England and Jessica Short (Josh) of Greensboro, GA; grandchildren, Isabella Free, Arianna Free, Nathan Short, Ian and Marlee; sister, Pat O’Bryant of Canton, GA; brother, Danny Free (Julie) of Jasper, GA; other relatives and many friends.
