Ralph Mason Meeler

Ralph Mason Meeler, age 81, of New Ellenton, SC, died Monday, July 24, 2006, at Hitchcock House in Aiken. He was born March 27, 1925 in Hart County, GA to the late Grover Delano and Rosa Mason Meeler. He graduated from Colbert High School, Colbert GA. He served in the U.S. Navy for two terms serving on the USS George Clymer and the USS Shangri-la as a machinist mate first class. He retired in 1982 from the E.I. Dupont de Nemours Company having worked in the Patrol and Power Departments at the Savannah River Plant.

He was predeceased earlier this year by his wife, Edith Camilla Taylor Meeler with whom he spent fifty-seven years of marriage; and also his daughter, Janice Ruth Meeler Davis. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by two sons, Ronald H. Meeler and wife Ida of New Ellenton SC; and Kenneth T. Meeler and wife Beth of Aiken, SC; a daughter Lynn M. Nelson and husband Larry of Aiken, SC; a son-in-law, George Bert Davis of Watkinsville, GA; a sister, Mary M. Montgomery and husband William of Winston-Salem, NC; eight grandchildren, Dana Celeste Davis of Snellville, GA; Andrew Ryan Davis of Athens, GA; Kelly Nelson of Charleston, SC; Kimberly Owens, Hope Meeler, Brianna Meeler, Brooke Meeler, Ben Nelson, all of Aiken SC; one great-granddaughter, Kayla Owens of Aiken SC; brother-in-law, Wayne Taylor and wife Betty of White Plains, GA; and sister-in-law, Ann Cook and husband Lewis of Washington, GA.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Curtiss Moore officiating.
