Ralph J. Beasley, Jr., age 89, of Greensboro, GA, died on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA. Born in Tunnel Hill, GA on April 18, 1932, he was the son of the late Ralph J. Beasley, Sr. and Leeola Pierce Beasley. He graduated from Gordon Lee High School in Chickamauga, GA and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. In 1954 he married his childhood sweetheart, Janet Madaris. Ralph served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in March of 1955. He spent the majority of his career, approximately 30 years, in sales for Cutler Hammer, a division of Eaton Corporation. In 1998 they made their home permanently in Greene County. For many years he was an active member of Walker United Methodist Church and was involved in several activities and committees. He was also the President of the interior property for the Deerfield/Sandy Creek community. Ralph enjoyed fishing, carpentry, woodworking, gardening, traveling and, most importantly, cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs.
Ralph is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Leigh Beasley Mattingly and husband Paul of Powder Springs, GA; sister, Beverely Humphries; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Beasley; son, Mike Beasley; and brother, Bobby Beasley.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. John Pike officiating. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. The family requests that any memorials be made to Walker United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642.
