Patsy (Farmer) Worthen

Patsy Farmer Worthen of Union Point, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, GA at the age of 77.  Pat was born in Stephens, GA on September 6, 1945. Pat was the daughter of the late Taylor Farmer and Bessie Shockley Farmer.  She attended school in Oglethorpe County. On July 18, 1962, she married Reuben Mason Worthen.  Over the years she did substitute teaching, worked at the Golden Pantry and was a seamstress for Stewart Apparel and Thomas Textile.  After she had her boys, she became a homemaker and enjoyed raising them. She enjoyed puzzles, ice cream and especially her grandkids.

In addition to her sons, Steve Worthen, Ken (Caren) Worthen, Bob (Sirisa) Worthen and Ray (Latamy) Worthen, she is survived by her brother, Jimmy Farmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Worthen and siblings, Charles Farmer, Carl Farmer, Frances Lankford, and Beeobie Swann.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, 1560 Bethesda Church Road, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Bruce Lovin officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at Bethesda Baptist Church.  Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
