Patricia Clarie (Drane) Haynes

Patricia “Patsy” Drane Haynes, 86 of Alabaster, AL passed away Monday, October 25, 2021.  She was born in Washington, GA to the late Augus Bailey Drane and Clarie Frances Autry Drane.  She grew up in Union Point with her best friends Gloria Ogletree and Faye Rowland.  She graduated in the class of 1953 from Union Point High School. She then attended George C. Wallace Jr. College, where she received numerous awards and recognitions and was on the Dean’s List.  On December 26, 1953, she married Robin T. “Bud” Haynes in McCormick, SC.  She worked for Health Education & Welfare as a purchasing agent and was an Assistant Supervisor at the US Army Induction Station.  She had lived in Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL before  moving to Alabaster, AL.  She was an avid reader, loved to cook and garden. She also loved to serve in her community. One of her favorite trips was when she toured America and Canada in a Winnebago.
 
Survivors include her husband,  Robin T. “Bud” Haynes;  children; Mara (Rick) Tomlinson, Brian Haynes, Pam Hamer, Scott (Joelle) Haynes, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son-in law Allen Hamer, and the following family members; Sarah Moody, William Allen “Cooper” Drane, Aubrey Holcomb Riley, Martha Kimbell, Peggy Drane Poole, Angus Henry Drane and Robert Hart Drane.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Callaway Funeral Home, 208 North Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with the Rev. Tony Byrd  officiating.  Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m.  until time for the service at the funeral home.  Serving as pallbearers are Mike Edmondson, Chris Edmondson, Casey Elrod and Paul Young.  Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Hooper, Dale Edmondson, Paul Young, Jeff Taylor and Tracy Poole. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669.  Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
