Ozella Adkins Strozier, a lifelong resident of Union Point, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the age of 94, at Piedmont Athens Regional.
Born on October 3, 1931, in Greensboro, Georgia, Ozella was the daughter of the late Garland and Cameal Lankford Adkins. She was a graduate of the local high school. While she worked for Chipman Union and Bethel Baptist Church over the years, her true joy was found in being a homemaker and caring for her beloved family.
Ozella married Gerald Strozier, and together they made their home in Union Point. She was a dedicated and active member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she participated in various services and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Bethel Knights. She had a passion for traveling, camping, baking, and hosting fish fries. A devoted mother and grandmother, her family was her greatest source of happiness.
Ozella was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Strozier; her son, Ray Strozier; her daughter, Martha “Sookie” Strozier Dover and her husband Terry; son-in-law, Bobby Lamar; and grandchildren, Jason Lamar and Amy Lamar.
She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Lamar of Union Point; and her loving grandchildren: Brad Dover (Mara), Kim Thomas (Stewart), Raelynn Moss (Joey), and Holly Young (Bryan), and a number of great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; along with many friends.
The family will hold a graveside service on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with a small lunch provided afterwards.
