Ollie Steber Obituary

Ollie Burke Copelan Steber, 84, of Atlanta, Georgia died Thursday, November 14, 2002. Born January 7, 1918 in Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Corry Marion Copelan and Elizabeth Swann Copelan. She graduated from Greensboro High School and was a retired bookkeeper for Livingston Properties. She was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband Emmitt Steber. She is survived by three nieces Judi C. Frost of Greensboro, GA, Denise Credelle Lott of Greenville, SC and Ann Credelle Cotner of Summerville, SC and four nephews, Corry Copelan of Greshamville, GA, Harry Thurmond of Snellville, GA, Sonny Thurmond of Athens, GA and Herbie Thurmond of Greensboro, GA.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Greensboro City Cemetery, Greensboro, GA with Rev. Scott Parrish officiating. Active pallbearers will be Harry Thurmond, Sonny Thurmond, Herbie Thurmond, Scott Thurmond, Chris Thurmond, Ryan Thurmond and Corry Copelan. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to Fork Chapel United Methodist Church, 1290 Chappelear Road, Madison, GA 30650. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.
