Mrs. Ollie Mae Chasteen McDonald passed from this life on September 4, 2020, at a local healthcare facility in Rome, Georgia. Mrs. McDonald was born in Jefferson, Jackson County Georgia on June 19, 1921 to Franklin and Sadie Chasteen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence ‘Mac’ McDonald, Sr., daughter Gloria McDonald Vinson, grandson James R. ‘Jimmy’ Vinson, Jr., sisters Irene Chasteen West, Mozelle Chasteen McElhannon and Rachel Chasteen Channell. She is survived by son Clarence ‘Pete’ McDonald, Jr. and wife Jane, son-in law James R. Vinson, Sr., grandchildren Michael Vinson, Austen N. McDonald and wife Kokeb, Elizabeth McDonald McCorkle and husband Josh. She is also survived by great granddaughter Alexis Vinson and her mother, Cheryl Vinson; great grandchildren Liam McDonald, Brooke McDonald, Alanna Jean McCorkle and several nephews and nieces.

Ollie McDonald attended the schools of Greensboro, Georgia. She was employed for more than 25 years at the Greensboro Clothes Closet and Greensboro Dime Store owned by Mrs. Helen Goldstein and Mr. Don Lacoff. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church for many years enjoying her Sunday school class and singing in the Golden Tones choir.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, Georgia.

A private graveside service is planned for family members, with Rev. Mark Jones of First Baptist Church officiating.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
