Nell Mann (Hammond) King

Martha “Nell” Hammond Mann King, of Greensboro, GA, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on April 11, 1941, in Greensboro and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Edgar Hammond and Daisy Nell Hubbard Hammond.  She graduated from Greensboro High School and furthered her education at Morris Business College in Atlanta.  She married James Allen Mann, Sr. on March 3, 1961 who preceded her in death and later married Brown King who also preceded her in death. After marrying Brown King, she lived a while in Monroe and worked as Head Machine Operator for Elton Mills. Spending most of her life in Greensboro, Nell was a hard worker and was the owner and operator of a poultry farm where she raised laying hens. She was a member of Walker United Methodist Church. Nell enjoyed working on the farm and especially spending time with her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her children, son, Chris Mann (Rhonda); daughter, Marie Lashley; daughter-in-law, Pam Morgan; grandchildren, Tiffany Duvall (Will) Jamie Askew (Johnny), Jr Mann, Heather Marchman (T.J.), Amanda Lianos (Cody), Chay Lashley, Daniel Clements and Adam Clements; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a number of other relatives and many friends.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, James Allen Mann, Jr., a sister, Linda Dale Hammond; and three brothers, Benjamin Arthur Hammond, Horace Edgar Hammond and Billy Ray Hammond.
