Naomi Marchman Credille
Naomi Marchman Credille of Greensboro, GA, died Monday, November 8, 2021. She was 97. Born in Greensboro, Naomi was the daughter of the late Hal Strickland Marchman, Sr. and Flossie Katherine Taylor Marchman. She graduated from Greensboro High school and later took some courses in nursing. Over the years she was a librarian while her husband was station in Charleston, worked for a dentist and kept books for the Greensboro Lumber Company. After returning to Greene County she was the owner and operator of Interstate 5 & 10 from 1974 until 1992. All of her life she was a caregiver and received “Caregiver of the Year Award” being the oldest person still caring for others. As long as her health permitted, Naomi was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Credille, Sr.; daughter, Kathie J. Godbee; brothers, Percy Marchman and Hal Marchman, Jr. sister, Willene Lockery and great grandchild, Chasity Allen. Survivors include her children, Barry Credille (Cindy), William Credille and Renee Poss; grandchildren, Melanie Thurmond Burt, Angie Ellington (William), Jim Thurmond (Celeste), William C. Credille III, Christy Davis (Andrew), Marie Hagan, Patricia Randolph, Ashley Poss, Megan Poss and Dr. Brent Credille (Allison); brother, Ray Marchman; a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 203 South Main Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Callaway, Charles Marchman, Darryl Marchman, Andy Marchman, Brent Credille and Will Credille. The family will receive friends Friday, November 12, 2021 at the church from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The family requests that any memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 41 Perimeter Center E #550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
