Nancy (Karr) Mittendorf

Nancy Karr Mittendorf, 81, of Greensboro, GA died Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at St. Mary’s  Hospital in Athens, Georgia. She was born June 20, 1940, in Portsmouth, Ohio the daughter of the late Owen W. Karr and Madelyn Doerr Karr. After graduating from Portsmouth High School, Nancy attended Ohio State University, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She married Richard Mittendorf on September 24, 1960. While living in Greensboro, Nancy attended the First Presbyterian Church. For twenty years, Nancy worked for the Gilman Paper Company in Sandy Springs, GA. In 1996 Richard and Nancy moved to Greensboro, GA to their home on Lake Oconee. Nancy loved animals especially dogs and horses. She also loved flowers.

In addition to her husband Richard “Dick” Mittendorf of Greensboro, GA, she is survived by her brothers, Paul Karr and wife Melony of Portsmouth, Ohio and Doug Karr and wife Linda of Midvale, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held Monday, June 13, 2022, at 11:00am at the McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA with Rev. Meg Jackson Clark officiating. Visitation will be held at McCommons Funeral Home, Monday June 13, 2022, from 10:00am until 11:00am.
