Morris William Murray

Morris William Murray of Tucker, GA, died Sunday, December 19, 2021 at his residence with his family at his side. He was 89.  Born in Burlington, NC, on October 22, 1932, he was the son of the late James Zedkar Murray and Marie Askew Murray.  He grew up in Penfield, GA and attended  Greensboro High School.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge.  He married the former Jeanette Adams on March 31, 1957.  Morris worked for AT &T  as a sales coordinator retiring in 1995. After retirement he enjoyed being at home with his family. He also got a lot of pleasure returning to his homeplace in Penfield working outside, taking care of his cows and resting in the rocker on the front porch.  Morris was a member of Penfield Baptist Church in Penfield, GA.
    
In addition to his wife, Jeanette Murray of Tucker, GA, he is survived by his daughter, Teresa Arnette and her husband Lee of Loganville, GA; grand son, Justin Arnette; three sisters, Naomi Jones of Burlington, NC, Hilda Burt (Jimmy) of Penfield, GA, and Elsie Harwell (Robert) of Greensboro, GA; and a number of other relatives and many friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Henry Murray and Donald Lee Murray.

Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Penfield Cemetery, 1211 Cemetery Road, Penfield, GA  30669   with Rev. Bryant Miller officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.  Serving as pallbearers are Justin Arnette, Lee Arnette, John Bostic, Steve Harwell, Bobby Harwell and Mark Burt.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
