Miriam Poss Durham

Miriam Louise Poss Durham, age 95, died, Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at her home in Union Point, Georgia. She was born October 24, 1913 to the late Corrie Franklin Poss and Lora Lee Patterson Poss. Miriam attended school at Philomath and Courtground Grammar Schools, Madison A & M and graduated from Athens Normal School. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Robert Durham in 1974. She is survived by a daughter, Melba Earline Durham of Union Point, GA; three sons, Robert Douglas Durham and wife Vickie of Moultrie, GA, James Melvin Durham of Union Point, GA and Carroll Austin Durham of Union Point, GA; a grand daughter, Theresa Durham Thomas and husband Bob of Moultrie, GA; a grandson, David Durham and wife Lisa of Blackshear, GA; three great grandchildren, Henry, Fielding and Presley Thomas; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Olds officiating. The family request no flowers. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
