Mary Camilla Couch Wilkes of White Plains, GA, died at her home on Lake Oconee Wednesday, May 5, 2021. She was 82. Born September 10, 1938 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Tyler Couch and Elizabeth Bankston Couch. She grew up in Stone Mountain and graduated from Stone Mountain High School. On June 21, 1957, she married Allen Robert Wilkes, Jr. During her working career she worked for Blue Circle Aggregates in Lithonia in accounts payable and receivable. Camilla was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
Camilla is survived by her son Matthew Allen Wilkes and daughter Tracy Wilkes; grandchildren: Brandon Allen Wilkes and wife Brandi, Blair Wilkes, Elijah Alexander, and Shaina Alexander; great grandchildren: Parker Allen Wilkes, Jase Wesley Wilkes, Avery Wilkes, Brantley Wilkes, Braxton Alexander and Hadleigh Alexander among many other relatives and good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Robert Wilkes, Jr. and her sisters, Chloe Ann Flowers and Denise Wallace.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church, 3091 Liberty Church Road, White Plains, GA 30678 with Rev. Jim Crutchfield officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Elijah Alexander, Travis Wilkes, Edwin Flowers, Parker Wilkes, Avery Wilkes, Blair Wilkes and James Finn. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church.
