Mary Byers Obituary

Mary Louise Meneice "Mudge" Byers, age 90, of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Willow Run Retirement Home in Greensboro. She was born in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania on May 22, 1920 to the late William Meneice and Elizabeth Blanche Kocher Meneice. Her grandfather, James Meneice, was one of the founding fathers of Ellwood City where she grew up. She graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a housewife and enjoyed playing golf. After moving to Greensboro she became a member of Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church of Eatonton.

Mary Louise was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Byers; a daughter, Sara Elizabeth "Beth" Harrison; and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Henderson. She is survived by her son, James M Byers and wife Terri Byers of Greensboro, Georgia; son-in-law, James Harrison of Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Kathleen Elizabeth Harrison of San Francisco, California, Jamie Richard Harrison IV and wife Ashley Eubanks Harrison of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lauren Elice Caldwell of Greensboro, Georgia; Jennifer Hampton Spurlin and husband David Brian Spurlin of Eatonton, Georgia and Michael John Caldwell and wife Eoy Owens Caldwell of Laurel, Maryland; great grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth and Katherine Thomas Harrison, Grady Lake Spurlin and John Dawson, Michael William and Robert Hampton Caldwell; and other relatives and friends.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
