Mary Virginia Harrison Boswell

Mary Virginia Harrison Boswell of Greensboro, Georgia, died on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the age of 76. Born in Raleigh, NC, on November 3, 1936 she was the only child of the late Ralph Edwards Harrison and Virginia Mobley Harrison. She graduated from Greensboro High School class of 1954 and attended the University of Georgia. She married Paul Janes "Jack" Boswell. She was one of the founders of Nathanael Greene Academy where she was a member of the Board of Trustees. Later she served as the Administrative Assistant for nearly twenty years. As a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro she was active in all aspects teaching Sunday School and helping with Awana. She was also an active member of Relay for Life, Friends of the Library and taught aerobics at the Senior Center. For many years she owned and operated a dance studio. Mary Virginia affectionately called "Mim" loved life and enjoyed cooking and being with family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Jack Boswell, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Janes "Pete" Boswell, III. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Kimberly "Kim" Boswell of Greensboro, GA; a son, Ralph Harrison Boswell and wife Heather of Greensboro, GA; grandchildren, Bayne Cheeley and wife Kinsee, Meme Edwards and husband Keith, Harrison Cheeley, Jamie Boswell, Thomas Boswell and Jacklyn Lane, Eli Boswell, Jeb Boswell, Mattie Boswell and Josh Boswell; great grandchildren, Abby, P. J., Saylor, Cooper, Laikyn and Brittany Boswell, Mason and Rylan Hudgins, Kylie Edwards, Mary Scarlett Cheeley and one on the way; a number of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 203 S. Main Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Rick Hermann and Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in the Penfield Cemetery, 1211 Cemetery Road, Penfield, GA 30669. Serving as pallbearers are Charles Crumbley, Rick Ward, Jamie Boswell, Gerald Torbert, Bob Beeland and Bobby Durham. Honorary pallbearers are Wesley Byce and Murell Byce. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at the church. The family requests that any memorials be made to Nathanael Greene Academy, 4731 Hwy 15 South, P. O.
