Martha (Binns) Scott

Martha Binns Scott of Union Point, GA, passed away, Friday, October 20, 2023 at Greene Point Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Union Point, GA at the age of 103.  Born on November 20, 1919, she was a lifelong resident of Union Point and was the daughter of the late Garnet Binns and Mary Underwood Binns. She graduated from Union Point High School in Union Point and Business College in Athens. On May 27, 1950 she married Owen Scott, Sr. For thirty years Martha was the bookkeeper for Chipman Union. She played golf and also enjoyed watching it on tv. She loved needle point, word search puzzles and trips to the mountains and beach..  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Union Point, GA.
 

Martha is survived by her cousin, Ann Yearwood (Hollis) of Union Point; step grandson, Jimmy Scott of Union Point; some other relatives and friends.  Preceding her in death was her husband, Owen Oliver Scott, Sr. 
 
A private burial was held at Wisteria Cemetery. Any memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 201 Veazey Street, Union Point, GA 30669. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
