Martha (Jackson) Harwell

Martha Jackson Harwell, 93 of Crawfordville, GA, died at Savannah Court of Lake Oconee on July 8, 2021.  She was born April 27, 1928 in Union Point, Georgia to the late Robert Glenn Jackson, Sr. and Eugenia Ogletree Jackson.  She was a graduate of Union Point High School and on February 9, 1946 she married Alvin Scott Harwell.  Martha was a homemaker raising her five children.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was a great cook, loved to read and work crosswords.  

Survivors include her husband of seventy-five years, Alvin Scott “Snooks” Harwell; children, Brenda (Richard) Tolbert, Derek (Sharon) Harwell, Skylar (Linda) Harwell, Tracey Harwell and Vee (Tracy) Harwell; grandchildren, Bethany Harwell, Brandy (Shawn) McAlexander, Wendel (Laura) Harwell and Bryan (Gail) Moore; great grandchildren, John Moore, Sarah Grace Moore, Will Moore, Margaret Moore and Ellie Moore.  Martha was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Webb, Christine Sherrer, Rebecca Deaton, Violet Jackson and Sue Stewart; and brothers, Glenn Jackson and James Arthur Jackson.

Funeral Services will be Monday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Callaway Funeral Home Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Albert M. Stroup and Tommy Harwell officiating.  The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669.  Serving as pallbearers are Brian Moore, Will Moore, John Moore, Wayne Jackson, Herbert Rhodes and Dwight Winslett.
