Marlene Merritt Brown of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at her home she was born in 81 years ago. Marlene was the daughter of the late Marlin and Vera Merritt. She grew up in south Florida with her sisters', Florrie Lee, Barbara and Eleta and her brother, Reggie. On August 20, 1960, she married her beloved Fredrick Edwin Brown. They built their home on a firm foundation in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Their lives revolved around church and family. They were married for 55 years only in death did they part.
At age 36, she returned to college. In May 1979, she graduated with Highest Honors with an Associate degree in Nursing. She was a devoted mother to Anita and Marcia. She was a dedicated grandmother to Garrett (Christie), Cavin, Lindsey, Morgan and Elizabeth. She was a loving great-grandmother to Leanna, Emma, Benjamin, Aiden, Henm and Emerson. She is survived by a large extended family in Florida and Georgia.
She is now in heaven with her beloved Fred and with her precious grandson, Garrett. Psalms 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.”
