Marjorie Jean (Tourte) Austin

Marjorie Jean Tourte Austin, of Greensboro, GA, formerly of Columbia, MD, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro at the age of 77. Born June 20, 1948, in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry Frederick Tourte and Mildred Brandt Tourte. Marjorie was a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she earned her bachelor's degree in 1970.

On August 16, 1969, she married the love of her life, David John Austin, in Ellicott City, Maryland. Together they shared 56 years of devoted marriage, building a life centered around family and community. Professionally, Marjorie enjoyed a successful twenty-year career as a Real Estate Agent for Long & Foster, retiring in 2008. She was known not only for her professional dedication but also for being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy was sharing her life with her husband and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, David Austin; her daughter, Kimberly Austin of Greensboro, GA; and her son, Bradley Austin, also of Greensboro, GA. She also leaves behind her sister, Carol Kruse of Willoughby Hills, OH, and her four cherished grandchildren: Elliott Austin-Bowen, Emelia Austin-Bowen, Lilah Austin-Bowen, and Penelope Austin-Bowen, along with other relatives and many friends she made over the years.
