Marion Terry Marchman

Marion Terry Marchman, age 67, of White Plains, Georgia, passed from this life to be with our Lord, on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Terry was born on May 22, 1953 in Greensboro, Georgia, and was very happily a life-long resident of Greene County. He was the youngest son of his dear and loving parents, Marion Marchman and Irene Melissa Bullock Marchman, who passed before him, and with whom he is now joyfully reunited. Terry lived a contented life and was known for his love of family, community and friends, and for his good and happy nature. A graduate of Greene County High School, which he attended with his brother and best friend, Larry Lee Marchman, they were both known for their skills at the game of football. After graduation, Terry’s keen interest in the working of machines led him to his career as the head machinist at Chipman-Union in Union Point, Georgia, where he had the added joy of working alongside his Mother for over twenty-five years.  After retirement, he enjoyed assisting at Holcomb’s Bar-B-Que, near his home. Terry thoroughly enjoyed social events throughout his life, in his teen years going “up-town” in White Plains and spending countless summer days swimming at Jernigan’s Bridge.  In later years, he loved spending time with his dear friends at Sammy’s Place and  hosting fish fry’s at the White Plains Fire Department for all to attend. Terry was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed water skiing, fishing and hunting. He thoroughly loved and cherished his family and friends and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passage by his brother, Larry Lee Marchman. Survivors include his sister, Mae Delle Williams (George) of Warner Robins, Georgia; his dear friend, Priscilla Marchman; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, 1020 Main Street East, White Plains, Georgia 30678 with Rev. Lee Smith officiating.  Serving as Pallbearers are Billy Bentley, Buddy Dean, Allen Askew, Flee Marchman, David Price and Kenny Stewart; with Honorary Pallbearers Tony Hidgon, Bobo Marchman, Donnie Wheeler and Eddie Harrison. The family will receive friends at Callaway Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
