Mariano "Mario" Gabrielli Obituary

Mariano “Mario” Gabrielli, age 91, of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, surrounded by his family. Mario was born on December 31, 1934, in Fairport, New York, to Alfred and Luisa Gabrielli. A hardworking and entrepreneurial man throughout his life, Mario owned and operated his own wholesale food distribution business for many years. He also pursued ventures in real estate, including buying, selling, and building homes. Though his formal education ended after high school, his strong work ethic, determination, and business instincts allowed him to build a successful life and provide well for his family.

Above all else, Mario was devoted to his family. He shared nearly 70 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Delores Gabrielli. April 14th would have marked their 70th wedding anniversary. Together they raised three children: their son, Fred Gabrielli; and twin daughters, Sherry and Sharon. Mario was a man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. In his younger years he loved fishing, playing golf, bowling, and spending time around the card table—especially playing Gin. He was known for his quick wit, his sense of humor, and the many memorable “Marioisms” that family and friends will continue to share and smile about for years to come. In his later years, Mario was deeply proud of his country and enjoyed following current events. Most importantly, a few years ago he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at NorthStar Church in Kennesaw, Georgia; a decision that brought him great peace and meaning.

Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Luisa Gabrielli; his brothers Giovanni (John), Joseph, Erminio, Pasquale, and Gino;  his sisters Mary and Yolanda. He is survived by his beloved wife, Delores (Rocco) Gabrielli; his son Fred Gabrielli and daughter-in-law Ann Gabrielli; his daughter Sherry Gabrielli Kranick and her husband Scott Kranick; his daughter Sharon Gabrielli; his sister Flora Gabrielli King; his grandchildren Ross Gabrielli and Vince Gabrielli; and his great-grandson, Renner Gabrielli. He also leaves behind 30 nieces and nephews who brought him great pride and joy and who fondly knew him as a favorite uncle.

Mario will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend—a man whose humor, strong values, and love of family left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. His family will carry his memory forward with gratitude for a life well-lived and the many lessons he shared along the way.

"A Celebration of Life will take place on April, 11th 2026 at 3:00 pm at Lakeside Community Church, 5800 Lake Oconee Pkwy, Greensboro GA, 30642. Please call Sherry Kranick for more info 404.277.8269"
