Maria Cecilia Procter Keenam of Washington, GA passed away on Thursday, January 23,
2025 at the age of 73, at Quiet Oaks Nursing Home in Crawford, GA. Maria was born in
Portland, OR on December 7, 1951. Her parents were John Michael Procter and Denia Procter
Brindzik. She graduated from Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, CA and attended
Cal State Long Beach. In 1976, she married James Dwight Keenam in Panama City, FL.
Maria worked at Bay Medical Hospital and then Arizona Chemical Plant. She moved to
Washington, GA 2.5 years ago and lived with her sister and brother-in-law before going to
Harper's Personal Care Home. She then moved to Quiet Oaks Nursing Home
in Crawford, GA. Her interests included painting, drawing and reading her Bible. She loved
any kind of music.
Her family includes siblings, Martin and Jana Brindzik and their children and grandchildren;
sisters, Denise and Jose Ramirez and their children and grandchildren and Dede and Leigh
Hartmann and their children; her son, Ray and Monica Nowak and grandson, Nakotah;
her stepsons, Jimmy and Jody Keenam and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with Rev. Arthur Key and Rev. James
Bowen officiating. Maria's family will receive friends one hour prior to the service with
a reception to follow at New Life Ministries in Washington, GA. McCommons Funeral
