Margaret Elizabeth (West) Thomas

Margaret Elizabeth West Thomas, age 83, of Greensboro, GA passed away at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. She was born in Greensboro, Georgia on September 17, 1933, the daughter of the late Hugh West and Maggie Blanchie Perkins West. She graduated from Greensboro High School. After high school she met and married George Davis Thomas, Sr. on June 17, 1954. Margaret was a homemaker who enjoyed her flower garden, fishing and baking.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Thomas, Sr. on September 27, 2011. She is survived by her sons, George Davis "Dave" Thomas, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Greensboro, GA and Wesley Dale Thomas of Greensboro, GA; grandson, William Marcus Thomas; Nephew and nieces; Bill and Lilli Thomas and family, Laura Ann Thomas Brown, Faith Walls Boswell, Martha Walls, Amanda Slay Summerville, Romesa Lewellen, and Penney Slay Bloodworth; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings Eloise West Walls, Hugh Dorsey West and Algie May West Slay.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating. Inurnment will be in the Greensboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.
