Maebelle (Wilson) Moon

Maebelle Wilson Moon of Watkinsville, GA formerly of Greensboro, GA, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the age of 97 at Magnolia Estates in Watkinsville, GA. Born in Clayton, GA on May 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Fred A. Wilson and Zoie Watts Wilson.  Mae attended school in Clayton and married Jesse Lee Moon. After she married they moved from Clayton, GA to Greensboro, GA. During her working career she worked for Union Manufacturing and Greene Point Nursing Home both in Union Point, GA, and Minnie G. Boswell Hospital in Greensboro, GA until 2007 when she retired. After retirement she moved to Athens, GA to live with her son and his wife until she entered Magnolia Estates Senior Living, where she enjoyed living and they enjoyed her. She was one of the sweetest, kindest, and most helpful person you would ever meet.  Taking care of her family and working was her life. Mae was a member of New Covenant Church of God in Greensboro.

She is survived by her children, Ernest Moon of Washington, GA and Glenn (Barbara) Moon of Athens, GA; 6 grandchildren, Lisa (Dennis) Burt of Washington, GA, Keith (Evie) Moon of Washington, GA, Jessica (Mark) Stephens of Ringgold, GA, John (Karmen) Moon of Washington, GA, Kellie Moon of Athens, GA and Reagan Moon Wilson of Athens, GA; 11 great grandchildren: Gary, Ashley, Christopher, Curtis, Macie, Eric, Samuel, Hannah Grace, Charlie Mae, Lilly Katherine, and Drew; 6 great, great grandchildren; sister, Glenda (Ed) Hefner of Mt. Airy, GA as well as other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Lee Moon and siblings: Florence Holcomb, Susie Free, Robert Wilson, James Wilson, Paul Wilson and Rosalee Wilson. 

Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Chaplain Lynn Bottoms officiating.  The family would like to give a special thanks to Magnolia Estates Senior Living and Family Hospice of Athens, GA for their wonderful care.
