Lori Michelle Bass Robertson passed away Sunday, July 9th 2023 at her home in Greensboro, GA surrounded by her loving family at the age of 58.
Lori's story began with adoption by her parents Maj. Waylon and Claudene Bass in Honolulu, HI where her father was stationed in the US Air Force. She later spent her formative years residing in Marietta, GA where she developed many life-long friendships.
Lori graduated from Wheeler High School in Marietta in 1983 and later attended the University of Georgia, becoming a sister of the Kappa Delta sorority. She graduated from UGA in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and then focused on her professional career by holding a variety of information technology and project management positions at Arthur Andersen, Unisys and Alltel/Verizon.
Lori met her husband Scott while working together at Unisys in 1988. They married in 1994 and spent the majority of their years together residing in Suwanee, GA where they raised their two sons Grant and Cole, along with making many lasting relationships. She exited the corporate world in 2009 to focus on raising her boys and caring for her parents, along with holding numerous school, sports and scouting volunteer positions.
Being adopted herself, Lori had a special place in her heart for children at risk. She followed a deep calling to become a CASA volunteer (Court-Appointed Special Advocate) in Forsyth County, GA and made a true difference in representing displaced children's rights and best interests.
After becoming "empty nesters" in 2021, Lori and Scott relocated to Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA where she quickly made many new friends in the community. Lori attended Lake Oconee Church where she enjoyed serving on the guest services team, along with having weekly fellowship with her church small group. Lori’s interest in the legal system also led her to return to part-time work as an office assistant for the Fierman Law Firm in Madison, GA. Additionally, she served as secretary of the Salem Plantation neighborhood homeowners association.
Known for having a bubbly, outgoing personality, Lori was a passionate fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons. She loved spending time with her family, tailgating, cooking, playing cornhole or any board game, boating, watching sunsets on Lake Oconee, hiking, taking RV trips, and traveling, especially to her favorite locations of Hawaii and St. John USVI.
She is preceded in death by her parents Waylon Thomas Bass and Claudene Baskin Bass of Marietta, GA, brother-in-law Jeffrey Robertson of Eastman, GA along with her beloved Labrador Retriever, Chase.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Scott Robertson of Greensboro, GA, son Grant (Kiersten) Robertson of Pensacola, FL, son Cole Robertson of Greensboro, GA, mother-in-law Pat Stuckey of Eastman, GA, sister-in-law Melissa Robertson of Eastman, GA, niece Cori Robertson (Kyle Smith) of Eastman, GA and step-sister-in-law Susan (Bill) Stratton of Fort Wayne, IN along with many, many friends.
