Linda (Ludwig) Williams

Ivelo Linda Ludwig Williams of Greensboro, GA passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at her residence at the age of 73.  She was born in Tiffin, OH on December 16, 1948, and was the daughter of the late George Samuel Ludwig and Ivelo Norris Ludwig.  She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Lindy last worked as an RN at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Norfolk,VA. during Operation Desert Storm. A Navy Wife of 32 years, she was active in the operation of the Dolphin Store and Scholarship fund of the Naval Submarine Force. She married Gary Eugene Williams on September 12, 1970. At the time of her death, they had celebrated fifty-one years of marriage.  In 2002 they moved to Greene County, GA from Washington, DC.  Lindy was a longtime member of The Harbor Club Ladies League and Ladies Golf Association.  She had a great interest in art and was an accomplished painter. When younger Lindy was a talented softball player, later in life she was prolific in sewing for and spoiling her grandchildren. Lindy LOVED flowers!

Her survivors include her husband, Gary Eugene Williams of Greensboro, GA; daughter, Nicole Courtney and husband, Michael; son, Matthew Williams; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Bethany and Bridget; brothers, Barton Ludwig and wife Vivian of Tiffin, OH and Robert Ludwig and wife Sandra of Findlay, OH.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Ludwig and sisters, Diane Baker and Cinda Rau.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. followed by Funeral services Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 3:00 p.m at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Alec Ward officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. by the family at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, GA  31061.
