Linda Warren Obituary

Linda Beatrice Maxwell Warren, of Greensboro, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. She was 84 years old. Born on November 27, 1941, in Neodesha, KS, Linda was the daughter of the late Wayne Fisk Maxwell and Esther Beatrice Foust Maxwell. She was a graduate of Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK. On May 19, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, William Frederick Warren, Sr. in Miami, OK. Together, they shared nearly sixty-six years of marriage filled with devotion, family, and lasting memories.

Linda worked in accounting and bookkeeping for Wayest Safety, Inc., retiring in 1995. Seven years ago, she and Bill moved from Tulsa, OK, to Del Webb in Greensboro, where they enjoyed being closer to family.  Linda attended the First Methodist Church Greensboro-Lake Oconee and she loved participating in Community Bible Study. She was an avid and skilled bridge player and also enjoyed playing Mahjong.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Bill Warren of Greensboro, GA; her daughters, Laura Rankin (David Rankin) of Greensboro, GA, and Pam Benson (John Benson) of Fayetteville, GA; her son, William F. Warren, Jr., of Florence, AL; and her sister, Dianne Chalmers Wiley (Bill Wiley) of Albuquerque, NM. Her grandchildren include Douglas Rankin (Aaron Chartier) of Beaverton, OR, Scott Rankin of Owasso, OK, Megan Warren Brown (Jake) of Oolagah, OK, Emily Benson of Fayetteville, GA, and Will Benson of Fayetteville, GA. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Brody Wilson and Haskell Brown, both of Oolagah, OK, and her beloved dog, Buddy, along with other relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne F. Maxwell, Jr., of Brooklyn, NY.

A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held by her family on Saturday, April 18th at First Methodist Church, Lake Oconee, 4741 Carey Station Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Greene County Food Bank, one of her favorite charitable organizations.
