Linda Martin Obituary

Linda Sue McDaniel Martin, age 77, of Greensboro, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at her residence. Linda was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 16, 1947, the eldest of four children to the late William Asa McDaniel and Ellen Louise Danner McDaniel. She attended Michigan State University. 

Linda relocated to Atlanta in 1980, where she served as Vice President of a Savings and Loan Company and earned a degree from the American Institute of Banking. She dedicated forty years to a career in mortgage banking. Prior to her retirement, the last ten years of her career included self-employment, which provided her opportunities to travel across the United States. 

After moving to Greensboro, she was actively involved in her community, serving on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity and Cheerful Hearts Ministry, Inc. She was a valued member of the Del Webb community. Linda enjoyed playing Mah Jongg and Pinochle, as well as gardening, sewing, and participating in Bible studies. She was a committed member of Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church.

Linda is survived by her two sons, Matthew Martin and Mark Martin. She is also survived by her sister, Sheila McDaniel; and two grandsons, Morgan Martin and Macon Martin. She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Lucy Pacer and her brother, Bill McDaniel.

A memorial service will be held at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church, 113 Scott Road, Eatonton, GA 31024, on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Jeff Birch officiating.
