Lillie Canup Piland, 84, of Woodville, GA, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022. She was born in Greene County to late James Coy Canup and Evie Cook Canup on November 27, 1937.
Lillie graduated from Union Point High School in 1954. She began her banking career at The Bank of Union Point. After 51 years of banking service, she retired in 2009 as Vice President of Operations for Bank South in Greensboro, GA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point. Her hobbies included gardening and cooking. She enjoyed music, dancing and attended many sporting events for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Red” Piland; brother, James W. Canup; sisters, Beulah Smith and Ada Smithmier. Survivors include sister, Joann Mixon (Dwight); daughters, Evie Hill McDaniel (Steve), Rachel Williams, Jenifer Wilson (Scott); grandchildren, Jeremy Hill (Lindsay), Alan Williams (Kimberly), Jake Hill (Misti), Ashley Jeffords (Tommy), Dylan Wilson and Kaci Wilson; great-grandchildren, Madison Hill, Nichole Hill, Gavin Stepp, Aidan Hill, Bryson Elwer, Cade Williams, Mason Williams, Colby Jeffords, Jarrett Hill, Camden Jeffords, and Harper Williams.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 31st at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Union Point, with Reverend Bob Whitmire officiating. Graveside Services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm prior to the funeral service at 206 Thornton St, Union Point, GA 30669. Serving as pallbearers are Steve McDaniel, Scott Wilson, Jeremy Hill, Alan Williams, Jake Hill, Tommy Jeffords, and Dylan Wilson. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
