Leonard Jack Dennis, Jr. beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, died on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the age of 79. Born on May 22, 1942 in Helena, GA he was the son of the late Leonard Jack Dennis, Sr. and Rexie Saunders Dennis. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in business from the University of Georgia. Jack married the former Patricia Jones, the love of his life, on February 11, 1989. He was a successful businessman owning and operating Lakeside Petroleum in Milledgeville, GA. He was a member of the Georgia Oilman Association where he served on the Board of Directors. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Oconee Regional Hospital in Milledgeville. In 2008, Jack and Patsy moved from Milledgeville to Del Webb in Greensboro, GA, where he enjoyed his retirement being with family and friends and became known as the first official Grill Master of Del Webb. Jack and Patsy were members of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Patricia (Patsy) Dennis of Greensboro, GA; his children Kim Kirkman (Dan), Jack Dennis III (Alisa), Allix Dennis (Dena) and, Tia Williams (TJ), and Loyd Avant III; siblings, Sandy Dennis (Hazel) and Michaela Hadlow; grandchildren, Mary Carson and Wen Kendrick, Callie and Jackson Dennis, Addie , Avery and Tiffany Moore, and great grandchild, Parker ; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro GA 30642 with Father Michael Silloway officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time for the service. A reception will follow in the Sacred Heart Social Hall.
