Lee Locket O’Neal, 86, of 206 E. Greene Street, Greensboro, GA died Thursday, June 20, 2002 at Toombs Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Greene County, Mr. O’Neal was born on September 23, 1915 to the late Gordon Lockett O’Neal and Annie K. O’Neal and was the widower of Winnie Bernhardt O’Neal. He attended Greensboro High School. Mr. O’Neal was the owner and operator of O’Neal’s Service Station last working in 1980. He was a member of San Marino Masonic Lodge #34 where he had received his 50 year pin and a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was active in the Men’s Bible Class and various church activities.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine O. Marks and Charlene O. Thompson, both of Vidalia, Georgia; a sister-in-law Bernice B. Myrick of Hickory, North Carolina; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2002 at the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro with the Revs. Richard Chewning and Ed Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Greensboro City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Roger Webb, Carlton Adams, Dave Eck, Chuck Mitchell, Sam Webb and Jerry Keenum. Honorary pallbearers are Horace Harwell, Carlos Sumner, Ray McDonald, Joel McRay, Bob Wenzel and San Marino Masonic Lodge # 34 Greensboro, GA.
