Larry Ellette Meeks, Sr., 76, died Friday, October 22, 2021. Larry was born October 31, 1944 in Dublin, GA to the late Flossie Bussell Meeks and Harvey Lee Meeks. He grew up in Soperton where he attended school and Red Bluff Baptist Church. He married the former Betty Jane Kemp on December 11, 1969. Larry was the owner and operator of Meeks Construction. He always had a big garden that he shared with family and friends. His favorite things to do were cooking sausage, making syrup and raising hogs. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved his family dearly.
In addition to his wife Janie Meeks of Greensboro, Georgia, he is survived by his daughter, Jessica Dawn Meeks; two sons, Randy Lee Meeks and Larry Ellette Meeks, Jr.; three grandchildren, Haley Alyssa Golson (Chris Stafford), Heather Michelle Golson and Heidi Miranda Golson and Jonathan Meeks; great grandchildren, Axel Zane Stafford, Hunter Meeks and Melissa Michelle Wilson; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Lynn Rhodes; his brother, Randell Meeks and a sister, Barbara Ann Meeks.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2021 at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Centennial Christian Church Cemetery, 4828 Centennial Road, White Plains, GA 30678. Serving as pallbearers will be Isaac Acosta, Brent Wilson, Michael Adriance, Michael Brown, Marty Meeks, Jamey Griffin, Christopher Meeks and Randell Meeks. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
