Larry Whitfield Herrington

Larry Whitfield Herrington of Greensboro, GA, passed away at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the age of 67.  Born March 28, 1954 in Greensboro, GA, he was the son of the late Elmer Herrington and Ruth Wray Herrington.  Larry graduated from Greene County High School.  He was married to Rita Wilson who was the mother of his children and she preceded him in death in 2001 and his second wife, Cynthia Hurt who preceded him in death in 2017.  For many years he was the owner and operator of Quality Upholstery in Greensboro.  For enjoyment he thoroughly enjoyed pool and was a member of the APA Pool League.  He attended  Celebration Baptist Church in Greensboro, GA.

Survivors include his children, Chris Herrington (Anita), Amy Leonard (Matt), Phil Herrington (Rhonda), Jon Herrington (Robyn) and Phoebe “PJ” (Chastyn Thwreatt); stepson, Chuck Hadden; grandchildren: Hailey (Jordon), Dalton, Hunter (Haylee), Carley, K.B., Caleb, Rita, Chelsea (Lane), Jaylin, Michaela (T.J.), Phillip “Lil Phil”, Destiny (Zach), Dallas, Whitney, Bethaney, Landyn, Koltyn, Amber, Alana, Ashtyn, Chastyn, Aiden, and Reece; six great grandchildren; brothers, Mike Herrington, Randy Herrington and Ricky Herrington; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer Van Herrington and Tony Herrington.  
 
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Celebration Baptist Church, 2470 Lick Skillet Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Kenny Marr officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669.  Serving as pallbearers are Dalton Herrington, Phillip Herrington, Dallas Herrington, Landyn Herrington, Hunter Herrington and Lane Toler.  The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
