Larry Jeff Eley, Sr.

Larry Jeff Eley, Sr., age 71, of White Plains, GA died suddenly Monday, July 17, 2017 at his residence.  Born in Washington, GA he was the oldest son of J. W. “J Buck” Eley and Dorothy Mae Thurmond Eley.  Larry graduated from Greensboro High School in the class of 1963. After high school he graduated from ABAC with an associate of Dairy Science. Larry and Nancy Rowe were married on August 23, 1968.  At the time of his death he was still running Larry Eley Farm Supply in White Plains, GA.  Farming was his life and he was a member of the Georgia Farm Bureau since 1969.  Just this year in February, he was inducted into the GACD Hall of Fame. He was an active member of White Plains Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Rowe Eley, of White Plains, GA; daughters, Amy Simpson (Charles) and Beth Clifton (Chad); sons, Jeff Eley and Mark Eley (Tawny); grandchildren, Lauren Eley, Lea Eley, Lindsey Eley, Henry Eley, Will Eley, Ella Eley and Kaeley Clifton; brothers, Jamie Eley (Dollie), Phil Eley (Jan), and Keith Eley (Cheryl) all of White Plains, GA; many other relatives and numerous friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at White Plains Baptist Church, 1020 Main Street East, White Plains, GA 30678 with Rev. Curtiss Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers are Thurmond Jarrard, Frank Moore, Wayne Taylor, William Coleman, Wayne Williams and Joey Rhodes. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night at McCommons Funeral Home.  The family requests that any memorials be made in memory of Larry Eley to the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P O Box 38, White Plains, GA 30678.
