Larissa Michelle (Johnson) George

Larissa Michelle Johnson George of Union Point, GA passed away on January 16, 2022 at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart in Lavonia, GA at the age of 41. Born August 27, 1980 in Las Vegas, NV she was the daughter of Lisa Waechter Johnson who resides in Greensboro, GA and Kenneth Johnson who resides in Nevada. She attended school at Bethel Baptist and graduated from Athens Tech. She married Joshua Darnell George on February 2, 2002. After graduation she became a dispatcher for Greene County 911, where she worked when she passed away.  Working there for twenty-two years she was promoted to Administrative Assistant and CAD Manager.  During this time she was an EMT for fifteen years and was a member of the EMA and Hazmat team.  She also volunteered for the Union Point Fire Department for ten years. Larissa was an excellent cook and loved gardening and spending time with her family. Other interests included dolphins, lighthouses and butterflies.

In addition to her husband, Joshua George of Union Point, GA; mother, Lisa Johnson and father, Kenneth Johnson, she is survived by two sons, Wyatt George and Desmond Moore; sister Sara Johnson; nephew, Troy Johnson; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Services will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Bruce Lovin officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be her 911 and EMT co-workers.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorials be made to the family.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
