L. G. “Rooster” Boswell
 
L. G. "Rooster" Boswell, age 83, of Greensboro, GA, died on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospice House.  A lifelong resident of Greensboro, he was the son of the late Lilla Margaret Torbert Boswell and Paul Janes Boswell, Sr.  He attended school in Penfield and graduated from Greensboro High School.  On November 26, 1963, he married the former Linda Brown of Greensboro, Georgia.  He grew up dairy farming with his father Paul Boswell, Sr.  After his father’s death he continued to own and operate Paul Boswell Dairy along with his brother Ben “Hot” Boswell.  He was a member of Penfield Presbyterian Church.  The things he enjoyed most were coon hunting, being with family, friends and especially his grandchildren.  He was a founding member of the Cherokee Enduro Club.
 
In addition to his wife, Linda Boswell of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by a daughter, Donna Boswell Smith and her husband Larry of Greensboro, two sons, J Boswell and his wife Sally of Union Point and John Boswell and his wife Regina of Watkinsville; two brothers, Ben W. “Hot” Boswell and his wife Ann of Greensboro and Andrew M. Boswell and his wife Judy of Greensboro; a sister, Doris Birdsong of Greensboro; grandchildren; Brad and Karen Smith, Bo and Missy Smith, Johnson Boswell, Anna Boswell, Sarah Boswell, Laura Boswell, Hallie Boswell, Eliza Boswell, Emily Boswell and Stephen McCommons; great grandchildren, Isabella Smith, Beckham Henderson, Sam Smith, Leah Smith and Brixton McCommons; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Janes “Jack” Boswell, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Penfield Presbyterian Church, Penfield, GA 30669 with Rev. Phil Carpenter and Rev. Reggie Haslett officiating.  Interment will follow in the Penfield Cemetery, 1211 Cemetery Road, Penfield, GA 30669.  Serving as pallbearers are Don Ellis, Bill Adams, Johnny Cowan, Billy Copelan, Roger West, Gene Lindsey, Dave Conger and Wayne Corry.  The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home.
