Kenneth Roger “Kenny” Silvey, a lifelong resident of Greensboro, GA passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was 62. Born in Greensboro, Georgia on June 28, 1959, he was the son of the late Harry Preston Silvey and Gloria Elaine Mote Silvey. Kenny graduated from Greene County High School in 1978. He married the former Terry Lynn Oliveri on June 2, 2012. Kenny was an excellent constructor in steel. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding motorcycles and especially riding his mule, Sarah.
Kenny is survived by his wife Terry Silvey of Greensboro, GA, formerly of New Jersey. Also surviving are children, Megan Silvey Doughtery (Ned); Danielle Carroll (Craig Hightower), Russell Oliveri (Kelsey) and Jessica Bynum (Andrew); grandchildren, Jonah Doughtery, Lucy Doughtery, Russell Oliveri and Lottie Oliveri; and brothers, Donald Preston Silvey and Gerald Silvey (Ann) both of Woodville, GA; sisters, Brenda Gail Silvey of Lizella, GA and Shirley Silvey Meeks (Jim) of Thomaston, GA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Madden.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at McCommons Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Woodville Cemetery, 1191 Peachtree Avenue E., Woodville, GA 30669 with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Ned Dougherty, Andrew Bynum, Kenny Ray Rickman, James Chute, Chris Dingler and D.J. Stephens. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
