Kathryn (Kathy) Jane Foster

Kathryn (Kathy) Jane Foster, 78 of Greensboro, GA passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Piedmont Athens Regional.  She was born October 9, 1946, in Lafayette, IN to the late John David Foster and Thelma Jane Cox Foster.  She graduated from Attica High School in Attica, IN in 1965 and earned her BS degree from Butler University in 1970 where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority.  On November 24, 1978, she married Richard Sloan Schoonmaker at the First United Methodist Church in Coral Gables, Florida.  She worked as a Medical Technologist for The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon retiring on April 29, 2008. After retiring they moved from Macon to Greene County.  She was an avid tennis and pickleball player. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Greensboro. 

Survivors include her husband Richard Sloan Schoonmaker of Greensboro, GA; sister, Pamela Sue Griesen of Attica, IN; brothers, David William Foster (Barbara) of Attica, IN and John William Foster (Robin) of Salt Lake City, UT.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Thomas Griesen. 

The family will hold a Celebration of her Life at a later time.
