Katherine (Lynch) Van Dyke

Katherine Lynch Van Dyke, age 103, of Madison, GA died Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at her home.  She was born September 14, 1918, in Buckhead, GA, the daughter of the late Jessie Lynch and Lessie Griffin Lynch. Katherine attended school in Buckhead and Eatonton.  She married the late James Van Dyke. Katherine was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, flowers and working in her yard. She was a longtime and oldest member of the First United Methodist Church of Madison, GA.

Katherine is survived by a daughter, Lisa Van Dyke Humphries of Madison, GA; a son, Daniel Van Dyke and wife Debbie of Buckhead, GA; four grandchildren; James Ghann, Matt Ghann, Jeremy Van Dyke and Kimberly Van Dyke Keyes; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, James Van Dyke; parents, Jessie and Lessie Lynch; sisters, Gertrude Hall and Jessie Vaughters.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 296 S. Main Street, Madison, GA 30650  with Rev. Grady Mosley and Rev. Wayne Ghann officiating. Interment will follow in Madison Memorial Cemetery, Central Avenue, Madison, GA 30650. Serving as pallbearers are Matt Ghann, James Ghann, Jeremy Van Dyke, David Van Dyke, Erv Dykstra and Jimmy Dykstra. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Hall, Tucker Ghann and Stephen Keyes. The family will receive friends Saturday November 27, 2021,  at  McCommons Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
