Karl Pump

Karl-Heinz Pump of Union Point, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Northside Hospital Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, GA.  Having lived in Greene County since 1975, he was born in New York on June 4, 1940, to the late Karl Gustauv Pump and Elsa Maria Sophia Roth Pump. He graduated from Eastchester High School in the class of 1958, served honorably in the United States Army, and later in life continued his education at Sandersville Tech. He married the former Martha Ann Burris on July 27, 1969. Karl was a long-time employee at Chipman Union in Union Point working as a Purchasing Agent until 2000. After that he worked for AmeriGraph in Atlanta for a few years and retired in 2005. His hobbies included collecting comic books and sports memorabilia, and he was a lifelong fan of the Yankees. Gatherings with his family really meant a lot to him. 

Karl was a devoted husband, and father. In addition to his wife of fifty-five years, Ann Pump of Union Point, GA he is survived by two sons, Erik Pump and Billy Pump both of Athens, GA; two sisters, Katie Brettling of Germany and Eleanor Pump of Tucson, AZ.  

A private service was held by the family. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1685, Atlanta, GA 30303. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
