Judith "Judy" A. (Klein) Cobb

Judith A. Cobb (Klein) 81 of Greensboro, GA passed away peacefully surrounded by her 2 children on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.  She was born on September 28, 1943 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late John P. Klein and Helen G. Klein.  Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Henry L. Cobb, her parents, her sister, Rosemary Houser (Joseph) and brother, Richard Klein (Vicky).  Judy leaves behind her son, Chris Cobb of Greensboro, GA, daughter Carolyn Nabakowski and beloved son-in-law, Rob of Olmsted Township, Ohio and her 2 beloved granddaughters, Maya and Izzy Nabakowski.

Judy was known for her beautiful smile and her ease for making and maintaining lifelong friendships.  Judy met her husband, Henry on a cruise to the Bahamas in 1965.  The two married in 1967 and together raised their 2 children and lived in many different cities including Fort Wayne, Indiana, Lawrenceville, GA and Naperville, IL before retiring to Lake Oconee.  Each move grows their wonderful network of friends.  Judy is a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High school in Fort, Wayne Indiana.   Before meeting Henry, she worked as a professional secretary.  After Judy married Henry, she dedicated her life to raising her two children. 

Judy was an active member of each community in which she lived.  She volunteered her time at St. Raphaels in Naperville, IL, the Christian Outreach Store in Greensboro, GA and at Christ our King and Savior Catholic Church.  She played tennis for the Atlanta Lawn and Tennis Association with friends in the River Oak Village Subdivision in Lawrenceville, GA.  Judy enjoyed walking and would walk with her friends in every neighborhood she lived in.  She also enjoyed bowling. 

Judy learned to play Bridge from Henry’s mother, Vivian Cobb.  Playing Bridge was a passion for Judy as she played in each state she lived in, most recently playing in the Lake Oconee Duplicate Bridge Club. Over the years she became an accomplished bridge player, achieving the status of Silver Life Master. 

Judy was happiest when she was with her husband, Henry.  After marrying Henry, they took several cruises to destinations such as Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, and The Panama Canal. Her favorite cruise was a trip they took to Europe and in which they cruised back across the Atlantic to New York, where she said, she was so close to the Statue of Liberty that she could have given her a high five!

In her later years, Judy used to say that there were two things we should live by- we should get up every day and we should have a “chuckle” (laugh) every day.  She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father Adam Blatt officiating.  A reception will follow at the church in the Sacred Heart Social Hall.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
