Joyce (VanMeter) Lilly

Isa Joyce VanMeter Lilly, age 79, of Greensboro, GA, died on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, FL.  Born April 28, 1945, in Shelbyville, KY, she was the daughter of the late David and Edna VanMeter, Sr. On June 25, 1966, she married Paul Lilly, Sr. in Charleston, IN who preceded her in death on May 2, 2019.  She had lived on her farm in Greensboro for thirty-six years and enjoyed visiting her sons in Florida.  She worked for Russell A. Fink gallery for about 13 years until they moved to Greensboro Georgia in 1988 and then she started her own gallery named Natural Images Gallery which she had for about 15 years. After moving to Greene County, she was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church.  Joyce loved her community and played an active role where she could. She was a huge supporter of the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department over the years. She was also a goodwill ambassador receiving the Kentucky Colonel from the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  
 
She is survived by three sons, Michael Lilly of Lakeland, FL, Paul Lilly, Jr. of Greensboro, GA and James Lilly (Jacqueline) of Holiday, FL; brother, David VanMeter (Janet); sister, Peggy Perry (Herman); grandchildren, Joyce Christine Lilly, Paul Lilly III, Stephen Kenney, and Bethani Accatino; great grandchildren, Elise Accatino, Kayla Barragan, Faith Kenney, Stephen Kenney, Jr. and Rebecca Rose Frederick; other relatives and many friends. In addition to her husband, Paul Lilly, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward G. VanMeter, Sr; grandson, Jonathan Crowther; great-grandson, Vincent Frederick; and daughter in law, Teresa Lilly. 
 
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642, with Father Adam Blatt officiating.  A burial service will follow at Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3091 Liberty Church Road, White Plains, GA 30678.  The family will receive friends Friday, December 6, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
