Joshua Scott Garrett

Joshua Scott Garrett, 47 of Eastman, GA died Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.  He was born June 9, 1977 in Brunswick, Maine the son of Glenn David Garrett and Susan Jo Walker Garrett. 

Joshua graduated from Fort Meade High School in Maryland and earned an Associate degree from The University of Maine at Machias. Joshua was working as an electrician at the time of his death. A few months ago he married the former Sherri Hyde and they were making their home in Eastman, GA.  Their favorite saying to each other was “It’s always an adventure, babe!”. His many interests included playing the guitar, kayaking, hunting, fishing, and marine biology. He enjoyed spending time with his family and most of all his grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife, Sherri Garrett of Eastman, GA,  and his parents, Glenn and Susan Garrett  of Sparta, GA, Joshua is survived by his children, Matthew Garrett, Charlotte Garrett, Cody George, Shelby George, Bryce Rogers and Josiah Rogers; grandchildren, Jareth George and R’mya Moore. Survivors also include his siblings, Zachary Garrett (Helena), Elizabeth Garrett, Emily Garrett (Jacob Harding) and Isaac Garrett (Amber); other relatives and many friends.  

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Christ Our King & Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA, 30642 with Father Adam Blatt officiating; followed by a reception in the church’s Sacred Heart Social Hall.
