John Ray Bowman

John Ray Bowman, 76, of Siloam, GA died Sunday, December 3, 2023 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. A native of Atlanta, GA he was born December 8, 1946 to the late John I. Bowman and Sarah Lorene Landress Bowman.  He attended school at Central Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, GA. He first started working as a carhop at the age of eleven.  After high school he worked for Overstreet Construction as a heavy Equipment Operator.  He loved horses and going to rodeos. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, loved being with his grandchildren and great grandbabies and his dog, Leroy. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Bishop, GA.  

Survivors include his wife Brenda Ramey Bowman of Siloam, GA; sons, Travis Bowman of Siloam, GA and Matthew Bowman (Dana) of Siloam, GA; sisters, Donna Brown of Commerce, GA and Rita Pilgrim of Winder, GA; brother, Tony Bowman (Reba) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Brandon (Sara) Bowman of Alto, GA, Brandy (Stephen) Phillips of Washington, GA, Bradley (Kelly) Bowman of Royston, GA, Blake (Kayla) Bowman of Lawrenceville, GA, Nick Bowman of Lawrenceville, GA and Joshua Bowman of Auburn, GA; great grandchildren, Baylee Grace Phillips of Washington, GA, Rylan and Brooklyn Bowman of Lawrenceville, GA, Andi Rae, Kendall and Walker Lee Bowman of Alto, GA; and his beloved pet, Leroy; a host of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Kase Bowman.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home, 109 West Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, 831 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, GA 30024 with Rev.
