Jerry Steed Parker, Sr. of Greensboro, GA passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born on March 30, 1950 in Greensboro, GA to the late John Cleveland Parker and Sara Jo Hammond Parker. Jerry graduated from Greene County High School in the class of 1968 and married the former Julie Styron on March 7, 1976. He worked for Great Waters at Reynolds Lake Oconee taking care of the golf course until retiring in 1996 after an injury to his back. He loved people, telling jokes, working with his hands, being outdoors and deer hunting. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and most important was his family.
In addition to his wife of forty-five wonderful years, Julie Parker of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by three children, Jerry Steed Parker, Jr., Stephanie Marie Parker (William Underwood) and Zachary Cleveland Parker; two grandchildren, William Parker Parker and Bella Marie Underwood; sister, Diane “Tot” Mize (Jimmie); brothers, Johnny Parker (Becky), and Jeff Parker (Christy); brother-in-law, Clyde Brown; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Millie Styron and Jo Ellen Brown.
