Jerry William Moore

Mr. Jerry William Moore, age 85, of Eatonton, GA, passed on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Mr. Moore was born in Armuchee, GA on December 14, 1937, son of the late Howard Griffin Moore and the late Mildred Watson Moore. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Shelly Moore, a sister Margret Sewell, and by two sisters-in-law, Rene Moore and Kathie Moore. He was a graduate of the Armuchee High School in the class of 1956. He earned his Undergraduate Degree at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and his Master’s Degree from Atlanta University. Mr. Moore was a former coach, teacher and administrator for Fulton County, GA after his service in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Walker United Methodist Church in Greensboro, GA.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Moore; his son, Scott Moore (Amy), Acworth, GA; one grandson, Jack; one brother, Arnold Moore; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Moore will be buried with a service on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 2pm at the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, GA 30114. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 4:00-6:00pm at McCommons Funeral Home 109 West Broad Street, Greensboro, GA, 30642.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in memory of Mr. Jerry Moore to the American Heart Association or Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA, 30642.
