Jean Davis Hawley of Union Point, GA died Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at her residence at the age of 94. Born in Ridgely, Tennessee on January 24, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Mary Myrtle Davis and the late Julius Warner Davis. She graduated from Piedmont College with a degree in Education and later furthered her education at West Georgia College. She married the late Cecil Franklin Hawley on October 14,1944 and shared almost 75 years of marriage until his death.
She is survived by her daughters Peggy Cecilia Latham of Lilburn, GA and Marianne Freeman (Randy) of White, GA; daughters-in-law Teena Hawley, Conyers, GA and Karen Hawley of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren Matthew Hawley (Sherry), Steven Latham (Stephanie), Ryan Freeman, Shana Latham, Amberly Latham, Stephanie Goss (Matthew), Christian Hawley (Stephanie), Adam Hawley, and Mikayla Latham; her great grandchildren Joel Teeple, Tenley Hawley, Chay Hawley, Tommy Latham, Megan Latham, Colton Goss, and Blakely Goss; siblings: Bobby Joe Davis, Billy Harold Davis (Donna), and Alice Cordelia Blackwood. She was preceded in death in addition to her husband and parents, son David Hawley, son Paul Hawley, sister Peggy Bogy, brother James L Davis, and great granddaughter Olivia Blake Goss.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Meg Jackson Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at Callaway Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Hawley, Christian Hawley, Ryan Freeman, Matthew Goss, Steven Latham and Adam Hawley. The family requests memorials be made to The Good Shepherd Clinic, P. O.
