Janet Elizabeth Lectka

Janet Elizabeth Lectka, age 61, of Union Point, GA, formerly of Washington, D.C., died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Greene Point Health Care Center in Union Point. A native of Washington, D.C., she was born on October 9, 1943 to William D. Lectka, Sr. and Nellie Frances Adams Lectka of Athens, Georgia. She graduated from Suitland Senior High School in Prince George''s County, Maryland. She had worked as a very successful administrative assistant in the Washington D.C. area with the United States Oceanographic Office, the Pentagon, NASA and retired from the Environmental Protection Agency. Janet was a licensed pilot and one of her favorite pastimes was flying. She was of the Catholic Faith.

In addition to her parents she is survived by a sister, Joan L. Price and husband David of Union Point, GA; a brother, William Donald Lectka Jr. and wife Patricia of Wales, UK; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oconee Memorial Park Cemetery in Watkinsville, GA with Deacon Bert Berding officiating. Serving as pallbearers are members of the Greene County Sheriff''s Office. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
